Hi, if you have tried changing the cables, USB port and the computer, then I would believe that the drive could be defective. However I would suggest you to E-mail support and see if they can help.

i tried with changing cable and computer . but prob as it is .

I am having the same problem.

I have the same problem too

  • I have WD Elements 2TB
  • disk is spinning a bit, light is on
  • start bar shows option to disconnect the disc
  • yet, it does not show in My Computer at all
  • if I got to disk management tool it says Unknown disk, not initialized
  • I cant change its letter nor anything

Please help!
