Hi Team,
I’m having issues upgrading my MyCloud device to the latest firmware. It’s presently on v04.01.04-422. When using the web interface, it is trying to update to v04.05.00-353. However, after rebooting the web interface doesn’t show the new version. It’s as if it does nothing. I’ve done the following:
-attempted updating through the web interface.
-attempted updating via downloaded update file manually.
-rebooted the device multiple times.
I haven’t factory reset the device; however was hoping to avoid that. Please let me know if there’s any other things I can try. Thank you!
This is the OS5 subforum. Your device cannot be updated to OS5 v5.x firmware. OS5 does not support the first generation v4.x firmware single bay My Cloud units. No, the first Gen v4.x firmware My Cloud cannot be updated to v2.x firmware either.
Thanks for you response Bennor. Apologies If I posted this is the wrong sub-forum; but I assumed this would be the most appropriate based on what was available.
I’m not trying to upgrade to OS5 as I’m aware it’s not supported; however it’s failing to update to the latest compatible version using the auto update or manual approach as mentioned above. Are there any options I have prior to doing a factory reset? Thanks again.
Is any error or warning dialog message being indicated during the manual firmware update process? Does the Alert icon at the top of the My Cloud Dashboard page indicate any errors or warnings? Does the Diagnostic report option in the My Cloud Dashboard indicate any sort of issues or problems? Have you modified the My Cloud firmware, stopped services, added unofficial modules or tweaks using SSH? Have you tried a 40 second reset?
Apologies; I thought my device was running OS4 for which I didn’t see a sub-forum. Will post in that forum next time though for issues related to this device.
Thanks for the suggestions above; I will check that and get back to you with my findings.
