I’ve been using a WD My Cloud 2TB for some time with no problem. I have just bought a new HP ELITEONE PC - I’m trying to configure my new PC so I can see the WD drive in Windows Explorer, but despite several attempts, I’ve had no luck. I’ve read many forums and tried the common suggestions, such as configuring Windows SMB.
I no longer have any ideas so I’d be grateful if someone could suggest a diagnostic path.
Couple of troubleshooting step often missed. Make sure the Network Profile in Windows 10 is set to Private and not Public. Make sure the My Cloud and computer are using the same workgroup name (typically: workgroup). Make sure the new computer is connected to the same local network as the My Cloud either via Ethernet cable or by WiFi. Temporarily disable any third party Firewall/Security programs. Certain programs have a tendency to interfere with local network access.
As a last resort one can access the My Cloud using it’s IP address in Windows File Explorer. Example in Windows File Explorer address bar: \\192.168.1.10
What type of router do you have and does your My Cloud show in your network?

What happens if you click on the Device web page link that is listed in the Properties dialog window for the My Cloud? Or if you put the web page URL into a web browser? Do you reach the My Cloud Dashboard?
When using Windows File Explorer, what is the specific error message you get if you input “\\192.168.0.20” (include the double back slashes) into the address bar?
