Unable to connect to EX2 when there is no internet connection

I have a EX2 acting as a NAS for my office’s LAN network (about 10 Windows computers). Yesterday was the first day of some planned internet downtime in my area, and this caused all of the computers to not be able to access/connect to the drive, it was almost as if the drive wasn’t connected to the network at all. Oddly enough, when I connected my Mac to the network, unplugging the ethernet cable from one of the computers that was not able to connect, I was able to access the drive just fine. With all of our employees coming back on Monday, I am unsure how to prevent this issue for the following days/week.

I’ve seen some people with similar issues, but none of which really apply or help my situation. I can’t see how this would be a Windows issue, any suggestions?

*Our EX2 has a static IP, and while we were not able to connect, I was able to ping it’s IP just fine from all of the computers that were not able to connect.
