Previously connected My Passport between an older laptop and my Mac with no issues, the Mac is my primary computer. After connecting it to a different Windows laptop tonight, after plugging it back into my Mac I’m suddenly on Read Only privacy. Is there any way to fix this without wiping the drive?

Was the drive formatted for both systems? If the unit was formatted on the windows, you might need to reformat that in order to use it on Mac.
It was. I’d previously been using it to switch files between my Mac and PC with no issues. I ended up copying the files onto a few flashdrives and wiping my Passport, which fixed it for now.
