My Passport 1TB cannot be opened on another PC after the first use in Macbook

I have used to use my Passport 1TB in my Macbook and have done the backup for it before.
But when i used this passport on another computer, like desktop at home, and try to open my files, It cannot open anything. I have entered my passwords as usual, but nothing shown up afterthat…
whats the problems, can anyone help me please.

The answer may be formatting. If you run backups from your Mac, its a good chance that the drive is formatted in HFS+ which is the standard format for Mac. This format will not allow tha drive to be read/seen correctly on a Windows computer. If you need for the drive to work on both Mac/Windows you will want to investigate formatting the drive in FAT32 or EXFAT. Both can be done from the Mac computer using Disk Utility. Remember that any reformatting will erase all the data on the Passport permanently.

Timothy, thank you so much.
do you know any place i can know how to reformat or fic this problem myself now…
i dont have any basic knowledge on this kind of computer stuff but i have to take out these important information

Formatting a drive is one of the most common things people do with hard drives. You can find hundreds of YouTube videos on the process. WD provides it’s own article on how to format drives. I provided a link below.

Timothy, really, really bad advice you gave!

DO NOT FORMAT THIS DRIVE unless you want to delete all data stored on it; and it does not sound like you do. So, you next best bet is find a program you can install that allows you to view data on this drive from a PC, so take a look at this article"
