Unable to access private shares through Windows Explorer

Hi guys, I hope you can help me out. I installed my My Cloud and it shows up in Explorer (Win 7). I do have access to the public shares, but as soon as I make a share private (and give myself full access in Dashboard), and try to access it through Windows Explorer, Windows says I do not have permission to access that particular share. I should say that I do have full access through the WD My Cloud application and that I can then move files to private shares. I’m guessing this is a rights issue, but since I’m rather unexperienced with networks and shares, I’m at a loss as to what to do now to sort out this problem. Could anyone please guide me into the right direction?

If you are using a Windows machine and have logged into it with a difference name and password that you have on your mycloud device, Windows is sending a different userID and password to the mycloud and it rejects it.

You can test this out from a comand prompt (cmd.exe):

net use T: \wdmycloud\myShareName my_password /user:my_user_id

this wil mount the mycloud share to the T drive.  Just change passwords and userids to match what your share name, userID, and password is on the mycloud.
