Unable to access dashboard

I can view the files via windows explorer, I can also log in to files.mycloud.com
If I enter the ip of my WD My Cloud single bay 2TB drive here at home, to access the dashboard, I can get to the log in screen, I enter my admin password, it delays briefly then goes to the dashboard, but although the horizontal row of icons is displayed (Used,s, Shares, Settings…) I cannot click any of them The browser then times out and asks if I want to wait or kill the session… I really want to kill it! Grrrr!

I’ve turned firewalls off, tried different browsers, tried ethernet and wireless from computer, tried via Galaxy S2 Tablet, all end up with the same result.

I’ve no idea what firmware it has as I cannot access the dashboard. What damage does a 40second reset do? What will I have to re-set up? Will it even fix it?

What prompted me to look into this was that I tried to view my files via the app on the phone and tablet whilst away from home. They came back with an error message of 904 or 903. I thought it was to do with the new router and the gateway on the WDMC (if there is a setting) needed altering to the new router gateway IP. So when I got home I tried to log into the WDMC and had the issue already described.

I plugged the old router in, but still the same issue.

Any thoughts chaps and chapesses?

TIA

Pete

Update:
Laptop still won’t load dashboard, keeps throwing up a pop up asking me to wait or kill.

The Galaxy S2 Tablet however… The spinny wheel on the tab of the browser window, spins for 5 minutes, then the dashboard loads and works fine.

So, why the delay folks?

Have you recently put lots of media on it?

.cr2 Raw image files?

Have you recently toggled cloud access off/on? That would restart the thumbnailing task, which can hog CPU.

Have you tried a 4-second reset?
