Two My Clouds in same house?

I tried the My Cloud Home and hated it. I want another My Cloud (original). I have a 4 TB and love it but need more space. I am hoping to buy the 8 tb but want to be sure they will work in the same house.

Yes, they will. You just have to give them different names.

Depending on how old your first MyCloud is, it might be a Gen1 device. A new one will be a Gen2. Slightly different, but if you don’t use any modifications, you probably won’t notice any difference.

My other one is a couple of years old. How would I know if it’s a Gen 1? I don’t think we use any modifications. I just tried the My Cloud Home and it wouldn’t do what my current one does so that’s why I am looking to get an original one in the larger size I need.

I have a gen1 backing up to a gen2 in the same network with no issues, I just named them MyCloud and MyCloudBackup.

@mrstank You may want to look at this for more information on both generations of the My Cloud.
