Trouble playing avi and mkv videos on iPad

Hi,

I’m trying to view avi and mkv video files on the iPad, I download the file using wd2go, select it in the downloads list and tap the open-with button in top right corner and select avplayer as the app is wish to use but nothing happens. If I go to avplayer it’s inbox remains empty.

Can anyone give me some guidance as to where I’m going wrong?

Could be you’re not waiting long enough.   iOS takes a while to “transfer” a file to the other app – I’ve seen it take as much as 20-30 seconds.

The destination app should open automatically when the transfer is completed.
