Transferring data files from external USB HDD to WD My Cloud

WD My Cloud is a NAS drive connected to the router via ethernet. There is a USB port on the My Cloud for connecting extra drives. Can this port be used for transferring data/media files from an external USB HDD to the WD My Cloud?

Thanks- just a clarification required. It means that if I have data/media on different external USB HDD, the data from them can be transferred by connecting to the USB port on WD My Cloud?
