Copying from WD to external drive

Another mild frustration with this device.

You can plug an external HDD into the My Cloud, and copy files from the external HDD to the My Cloud using the app or website.

However, you can’t copy files from the My Cloud back to an external HDD directly. You need a PC to copy files from the mapped drive, which seems a little counter productive.

Is there any hope of this being supported in the future?

I hope so! I can’t believe WD doesn’t support this.
Now usb port can only work for import TO the my cloud
Why not export FROM the my cloud to the external drive.
