Transfering files to Windows 10

I purchased a new computer and want to transfer my files from Win 7 to Win 10. On my old I have it set to back up once a week, my latest back up is 2/26/2016.

I installed the passport software on my new pc. When I clicked on WD Backup and then went to restore, it said I didn’t have a back up plan. So I created one. I’m only had my pc 2 days. It had nothing much to back up. However, when I go to restore files, it does allow me to pick computer or another location.

However, it doesn’t show my old PC back ups, only the new one I just did. I can’t figure out how to access my Win 7 back up on my new computer.

When I go back to my Win 7 computer, I plug in the passport and I can see all my files.

Hi, if its not showing the files from the old computer, you could try to access the drive directly and look for the WDSmartware.swstor and you should find the folder of your old computer.

I did find that, however its storing a picture *.jpg and the one that is .jpg_last. I want to save entire folders to my new pc and it has double the number of files it is restores. when the file it saved to my new pc, it is not allowing me access to the file. when I click on a picture, I don’t see the images.

I want to restore several years of files and pictures and it has 2 files saved for each picture.

The same thing happened to me. These are the only copies I have of these pictures and it’s really important that I am able to use them again.
Please there has to be a way to fix this.
