Timemachine is unable to see the EX4100 to back up

I have set the EX4100 up and it’s been working perfectly well. all signs are healthy and I can access files held on the drive from my iMac and remotely from iPad or my iPhone. But for some reason my iMac is no longer able to back up and does see the EX4100 in the list of drives available for back up.

Mac OS is High Sierra 10.13.6
WD Firmare is 2.30.193

any advice wold be great-fully received

Is the Time Machine option enabled in My Cloud Dashboard > Settings > General > Mac Backups?

Yes it was among the first things I checked.

I would re-confirm, the EX4100 NAS has been working for the last 2 years and has only recently failed. Can you put me through to someone that can help please
