The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “public” can’t be found

I can see MyCloudEX2Ultra drive on my macbook finder sidebar as connected device. Generally, I am able to access all folders in that, but once in a while suddenly, it gives error and can’t access any folder - it gives error – “The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “” can’t be found.”
When I reboot by macbook it starts working again. Not sure what is going on. can someone help on this??

Hi,

You may remount the share and use AFP instead of SMB while mapping the share: My Cloud: Cannot Reconnect to Shares on macOS

Thanks, relaunch of Finder window worked.
“option+control” and then clicking Finder on dock gave relaunch option,
after relaunching Finder window, it was able to connect to mapped drive.

I just fixed this problem on my system. The problem is that you need to restart the finder as instructed in this thread, but you do a “connect as” and enter your NAS Admin credentials and error disappeared and I was able to start moving files from my old MyCloud device.

Hi, what do you mean with " do a “connect as” and enter your NAS Admin credentials" ?
