Strange clicking sound from new WD40PURZ, drive can not be used

Hi

I had 4TB WD Purple drive for Blue Iris (PC NVR software). Had to RMA it after drive become very slow and bad sector check could not be completed.

Replacement drive arrived today, which looks brand new, but at power up there is a strange noise coming from the drive and the drive can not be used in the operating system (visible in disk list but can not be initialized due to I/O error). I guess it’s defective.

Any ideas?
