Recently I have purchased 2x WD Purple series hard drives 4Tb and 8Tb.
When connected to the PC, the 4Tb drive is working allright and does not stand out in any kind of way.
The 8Tb drive also works, but there are twice as loud clicking sounds coming from the drive than from the 4tb drive.
When sent back to the wholesaler for testing (ELKO Group, Latvia) we received a notification that the drive is fine and received a printout from various WD testing tools with 100% “PASSED / OK” results in all tests.
If the tests are fine, but clicking sound is much higher - is that a warranty case, can I be sure about the data safety, can the drive be replaced?
Wholesaler refuses to exchange the drive since all testing results are “green”
