Setup & Sharing issues with Mac and Sonos

Hi all,

I’m hoping i can get some help with what is proving to be either the most complicated or worst NAS drive i have ever used.

The system in use is a Mac which is wifi connected. The MyCloud drive is connected to the router, this appears to work ok in the sense that it shows as a drive and i can access it and save to etc…

I am completely unable to set the drive to be the default folder for the itunes library so cannot use it to hold that music.

Also, there is a Sonos system connected which i simply cannot get the drive to add into the system, no matter how many share links i create and what username/password i try i get ‘cannot add network drive to sonos’ message.

Please help as this really shouldn’t be that difficult.

Thanks.

this device does not support itunes server.

for the sonos you may be able to use the default public samba share but the private user storage probably would not be able to be used. if you are using the default public samba share (this is what time machine uses for example) it only support signing in as guest.

Thanks for the reply.

Can you tell me how I would use the public space then and how I would set this up? I cannot seem to see it and not sure how I get the Mac to write to it?

Thanks.
