I setup smartware to backup files on my c, d, and e drive. I am going to install a new SSD drive as the C drive and still keep the other drives as d, e, and f. I’d like to backup the entire new C drive, but still keep the same file plan for the old c,d,e, but they will be designated as d,e,f.
Must I setup new backup plans for the new configuration?
What do i do with the files currently backed up on the WD backup drive?
…and after viewing the software, I could not find how to do a new backup? Will it erase the old files once I setup the new drive config, or do I need to save the software files, erase the drive, and reinstall the software? I could not find any menu item for removing the old backup and starting a new one?
Oh, and can I save my new Windows drive image file to the drive? Just select it as the destination? Thank you.
To start a new backup on the same computer you need to delete the backup folder, I think you can also just change the name of the backup folder so Smartware wont recognize it. Yes to the second question, you should be able to select the external drive as the destination for a Windows image.
