Hello, I purchased an 8TB easystore (WDBCKA0080HBK-NEBB) desktop drive during Black Friday. I didn’t get around to actually getting it out of the box to transfer everything from my 4TB drive until recently and it was clear there was something wrong with the 8TB drive as it took over 24 hours to transfer not even the whole drive over. WD agreed when I started a case, and suggested that I do an RMA. I sent the drive in and received a MyBook (WDBBGB0080HBK-NA) drive as a replacement.
I am a little disappointed because it looks like the easystore was a better drive. From everything I have seen online it appears that the easystore has a red drive in it. I like that the easystore has an indicator light on it. The reason that I am posting this is to see if I am being a little unreasonable or not? Is the MyBook drive just as good? I have been buying WD drives for almost 20 years now, and this is the first time I have had an issue with one.
