RESOLVED: WD My Book Live - Error 31550, 30500, 31520 & 31686

When I read about error 30500, the online knowledgebase directed me to technical support, as this is a critical issue.  

Called tech-support and still on-hold after 60 minutes. What the **bleep**!

I just bought the WD My Book Live and the firmware is 02.11.09-053 : Core F/W.

My computer is a MacBook Pro Mid-2012 w/ Mac OSX 10.8.1

My router is a SMC model smcd3gnv

Why did you make the subject RESOLVED if you have no resolution?

I performed a quick factory reset from the web interface. Unistalled all the software and reinstalled the drive.  This resolved the issue.   

I am having same issue.

What do WE have to do???

Why is this some private message only reply?

How about putting the answer up so we can fix this junk on our own, not have to call customer support.

Can’t do reset. Utility button wont load.
