Oh Yes. I have returned 3 WD Gold 4TB drives due to drive clicking, HD activity light staying on etc. Different problem with each drive. WD says that because it is designed to work in a DataCenter they cannot guarantee the performance in a desktop. At this point I have purchased my last WD drive until they get their heads out of their butts. Fortunately for me all 3 drives had issues within the first 21 days so I was able to return to retailer without issue. The only way I will buy a HD now is to put an extended warranty on it that allows you to get your money back if the drive fails. Most extended warranties can be gotten for less than $25 so to me it is piece of mind knowing that I will not be going through the refurb. nightmare or paying for returning drives under warranty. Hope that helps.
