Remote backup to EX4

I have an older EX4 that I had been doing remote backups to, however, the OS5 upgrade broke that. I was trying another method only to discover that method has been corrupting data on the EX4. I thought that I would try using rsync, that appears to be broken as well.

Does anyone have any solution to replace Remote Backup?

Remote Backup uses rsync.
rsync in OS 3 uses blowfish cipher but also supports aes.
rcync in OS 5 doesn’t support blowfish cipher which is why Remote Backup is not supported between OS 3 and OS 5.

rsync doesn’t use encryption, not natively.
