I’ve searched but could not find a good answer…when is the EX4100 scheduled for end-of-life / end-of-support? Is there a time-table for other NAS products as well, ie. EX2 Ultra?
What is a general best practice to keep these devices in operation, 5 years before replacing?
End of Support comes when your warranty expires.
Even if WD stops updating the software for it, they’ll support the hardware until the warranty period ends.
