With Imac 24" and OS Yosemite, evenif I can see the drive under “Shared”, I can’t connect my WDLive (system reports one error connecting as guest or as user with name and password).
I can reach the drive with Safari, giving his IP address (Static IP 192.168.1.107) and trough WD mycloud software with no problems.
I have and ADB 2200 Fastweb router and the drive is right seen under his IP address.
For you, the problem is due a bad network configuration, a miss configuration on the router or I have to do a different configuration on the Drive Control Panel ?
Hi mamussi, welcome to the Community. Make sure the My Cloud if updated to the latest firmware. Try connecting the My Cloud directly to the Mac and verify again of the problem continues.
Thanks Jubel, my firmware’s device is the lastest “v04.01.01-413”.
The unit is visible under my router’s “Connected Devices” and is it also visible and usable with MyCloud software (in intranet and extranet). If I write the IP Adress (192.168.1.107) on safari, I can catch up the WD Control Panel Setup.
I think the problem is with my IMac because the device isn’t visible under Finder and if I try to use “Connect to Server” writing smb://muscloud (muscloud is my WD Device name) or smb://192.168.1.107 (both connecing as guest or as a registered user) the system report an error
Note that with a Windows PC the Device is full usable.
If you share a folder on the network from your PC, can you mac access this share? I just want to make sure this is not a windows file sharing issue on your Mac, rather than a problem with the NAS.
