Private Folders cant be seen in windows explorer - win 7 x64

Hello all…

I bought a WD my book live 2 TB version 1 week back. It is working fine with only one little problem… whenever i create a folder/ share  and mark it as private and give it access to me, the problem starts.

  1. I go to windows explorer and under network, my book live is listed

  2. I click on it

  3. I can see all the folders I have created

  4. Now I double click on the folder i marked private

  5. it pops up a window asking for NETWORK PASSWORD

  6. I tried giving the username and password of the my book live…still no luck

7 I have tried giving all forms of combination, still no luck…even I gave the windows login username and password…no use at all

Please help with this.

Try disconnecting any other mapped share and then retry connecting to the private share.

On Windows, the mapped shares will show on “Computer”. You can right click and select disconnect.

enter the domain with the username for example my user name is Agustin so I’d enter “mybooklive\Agustin”

Nothing Works…same problem persists
