Every video I play from either YouTube or a usb ends prematurely. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.
What other details are you able to provide to the WD Community? What combination of codecs and containers do you try to play under which Firmware Release?
More information will allow more Users to better help you.
Regards,
These are large mkv files of 1.8 GB. I have since noticed that the file freezes on my computer at the same point that WD ends it. I doubt WD has a work around. Thanks a lot for replying. Best wishes
You could try converting the codec inside the MKV container to a different codec. It should provide you with a different behavior.
Regards,
YIKES how do I do that. Thanks for all you help Trancer, I really appreciate it.
You will need a remuxing application. There are millions to use, however, must Users in the WD Community tend to use HandBrake as it is a free application.
The User Manual for your WD TV Live HD Media Player has a list of tested combinations of codecs and containers that will work with your Western Digital Media Player.
Regards,
As an update, I downloaded a version of the file which was less than half the size of the original. This version played fine on my WD Media Player. The picture was not as good but at least I got to see the show. Again, thank you for your help.
