I had 2 drives and decided to add another one.
In config screen all looks O.K., but there is red light under the 3rd drive.
Someone had similiar case, but I do not see such options mentioned in this thread…
What should I do?
What the end goal here? Are you adding the new drive to switch from Raid1 to Raid5? Do you want to add the 3rd drive as “stand alone” storage (Volume_2)?
You should review the user manual at:
Make sure you use the correct one based on the OS version on your PR4100 (OS3 or OS5).
If you’re going to add the drive and switch to Raid5, you need to backup all of your data (good thing to do anyway), then “Change Raid Mode”. This will wipe all your data and reconfigure the array to Raid5. You won’t get more storage but performance will improve as will data protection.
Thank you for answer… Yes, the purpose was to go for RAID5.
If there is no simpler solution then I must plan some time to back-up and reconfigure all stuff…
