Hi,
I have 2 issues with a brand new unit received yesterday:
-
Warranty: on the PR4100 box, it is mentionned 3 years Warranty, but WDr website indicates less than 2 years (23nov2024 to October 1st 2026)??? This needs to be corrected.
-
As I said, I received my PR4100 yesterday, installed it no problem. It upgraded itself to 5.29.102. Worked like a charm all afternnon. This morning, blue LED stays on, but buttons are not responding, and NAS is not accessible.
Shutdown does not work. Had to unplug it and now it stays in booting process with blinking blue LED.
Any suggestion? Should I simply send it back and claim for reimbursement?
Thanks and regards
Phil

Hi
Yes I did check all the relevant articles and also opened a ticket.
I got in contact with WD support person who tried basic things that I already went through (reboot, 4s and 40s reset, replace LAN cable,…) but nothing more.
Since the network ports were not going live, it was suggested that I send the unit for repair what I did not want, since I had the unit for 2 days only and was hoping for a direct replacement, that product supposed to be a ‘Pro’ one.
At the end, I just sent it back to Amazon and ordered a new one to give it another try. If that new unit fails within a month, I will go back and stay with Synology.
Many thanks
Phil
