Plex cant find my cloud location

I have been doing some digging on this and cant seem to find the answer. I am trying to tell my plex library to look in My Cloud for the files/movies. I don’t see the My Cloud destination as an option. I am running the Plex server on my desk top which I currently have most of my movies stored. What am I doing wrong or missing.

I have seen many discussion where people ask the same question and the discussion turns into installing plex on the cloud device, which I am not trying to do.

Really appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you!

Have you looked at and read this, Stream Movies & TV Shows | Plex ?

You ought to be able to do it by mapping the media share as a network drive, and then pointing Plex to that mapped drive. The mapped drive will appear in the file system just like any other local drive letter.

Thanks, I haven’t had a chance to try this out but it sounds like what I need. I wasn’t even sure what to search for to fix my problem so again, huge help.
