My WD PR4100 stopped working over one month ago. No automatic updates were enabled and everything was working fine. But one morning appered with the power blue light flashing (every one second).
Nothing works, no ip access, no reset (4 a 40 sc) works. Just the light flashing.
So I started to read and start running additionals test. Thank you every one on the forum for sharing your experiencies and ideas.
I have made some progress, I have manage to built Serial UART Console Access. But on the GNU GRUB I can not get a booting in any way, both linux options end with a “Booting in blind mode”. Doesn’t matter what ever I manage, the device doesn’t boot. Of course I made the support option of leave the device running for seven days and wait…
I guess I need a full S.O restore, but I am stuck. Now I am working on a USB Rescue, but here the progress is slow. I have managed to be able to find a USB stick that fits but when I try to boot from it I get this message:" Failed to load ‘/boot/loader.efi’" - “panic: No bootable partitions found!”
I guess I need to run from the USB, get a firmware copy and restore it with the OS of the PR4100.
I can not believe that my only option is going to order a new one. After I have purchased a PR4100 and a DL4100 for backup (but the remote backup in the DL never worked automatically only in manual).
I hope sincerely someone can manage to help me and we will able to restore the device. I have read many leads and looks like a couple of guys get support from some users. I just need a bit of guiding to move forward from where I am stuck.
