Hallo everyone!
I am a frustrated owner of a 2tb mybooklive , i decided to take the hd out of the case and to install it into a usb case cause the hd was too slow and all the files that where in the hd where too slow to bring to another hd.
so i did all the manual work and when plugging in the hd in the external hd case and plugging in the usb cable it says it needs formatting before use.
do you know how i can recover the files i have in this hd before formatting the hd for a proper use?

wat is not working is the software part, i use a mac
For the Mac, you then need a program that can read Unix partitions, in a few words, the equivalant of Disk Internals Linux Reader or something similar.
MBL has Debian Lenny OS.

Just do a quick search for “mount unix drives on mac”.
macfuse it is one I can think of, but there are plenty and all with different procedures, find the best for you. Good luck!
