PC unable to find MBL 2TB

I have a WD My Book World Edition which works perfectly, so I have now bought a MBL 2TB.

I am unable to “discover” the unit at first set-up out of the box.

I initially have a blue light for a short period, then a solid Green for a short period, then it goes to a flashing light which I am not sure is green or yellow.

It will not stop flashing and I cannot connect to the unit.

I do not see any lights at either end of the LAN cable (on the unit or my Netgear switch)

Is this an out of box failure or can something be done to it?

Check that the my book and PC workgroup name is the same, also check your firewall. You can also try using WDlink to discover the my book.
