Passport Essential moving data from PC to Mac

Hi, I’ve just moved onto a MacBook Air, my WD Passport was formatted to my old PC laptop which is now broken. 

Is it possible to get the data onto my Mac?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ben

A drive formatted for Windows NTFS is read only on a Mac. Read post 6 http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-Portable-Drives/unwritable-drive/td-p/435872 see if that helps.
