I had an external hard drive that stop working I bought a Passport and found a tech office that would transfer my data over to the new one. My files are on the Passport but I believe the tech used a pc and I need it for Mac. What can I do? Help please.

If the drive is formatted for Windows (NTFS) you will still be able to read this files on Mac. However, this files will only show as read only on the drive. In order to be able to use the drive on Mac you have to format the drive for Mac (HFS). Please note that formatting the drive will delete all data stored on it.
