I have several zip and rar archive files on my MyCloud drive. If I need a file contained within the archive I have to transfer the entire archive to my computer and extract the archive. Some of these archives are a few gig. Is there a way to open an archive on the MyCloud and just download the file contained within the archive? The MyCloud is a computer running Linux. There should be a way to do this. Also updating the archive and adding and deleting files on the cloud would be nice as well.
In order to do this the entire zip file has to be downloaded to your local computer then Stuffit Expander opens the zip file. If the zip file is very big, a few gigs in size, this is very impractical. I am looking for a way to open the archive on the MyCloud computer and only send the file I need not send the whole zip file over.
For me then, I would do the same thing as shown in my image except I would choose My Cloud and the share I wanted to open it in. This, I am sure, would end up the same with everything in the share/file that is zipped having to be unzipped on the My Cloud.
