Old firmware download locations

I’ve decided to start using my My Cloud Gen1 again. I noticed that the firmware is 9 releases behind. I can only find the latest 3 versions for down load. Can we upgrade from 04.04.02.105 to 04.05.00.342? Not sure I want to go beyond .342. All of the links I have found appear to be dead.

One other issue I found is that when doing a cp -r of files on my Linux system to the My Cloud, I get error when the folder I’m coping has symbolic links. This makes it difficult to get a accurate backup copy.

WD broke the links to the older firmware a long time ago. Made mention of it in the following thread that I was keeping updated with links to the firmware:

I forgot to ask since I haven’t been able to find the answer in the forum. I assume that you can skip several updates rather than having to update each version in sequence.

One would assume so, unless there is something specifically indicated in the release notes for the first gen firmware.
