Novice- How to move files over to hard drive only?

Hello!

Thank you for even reading this! I am new to external drives. I purchased 1TB My Passport because I maxed out my memory on my ancient but still very reliable laptop. I mainly purchased the drive to store a program called Pageburst which stores all of my nursing school books, which takes up a large amount of memory. My idea was that I could take the Pageburst program and all of its files off of my computer’s hard drive and store it ONLY on the external hard drive. Is this even possible? If so, how do I move an entire proram and all of its contents completely to the external drive? Or maybe I could just keep the program itself on the computer and move each book file to the external drive only? I see a lot of info about backing up data, but I don’t want to just back up data. I want to move files over.

Any help is appreciated!

Thank you.

Hi well it is the same always to move files use copy and paste. Of course you can not do this with a program as the program put files in windows so it can function. Now once you move those files they will be in a different spot so if you run the program from windows you may have to use the program menu open function and browse to the USB drive for the books.
