Continuing the discussion from WD photos does not show photos:
I do have exactly the same problem: more than 25 directories with thousands of pics were correctly synced, but all folders with pictures which I added this year (2016) don´t show up in the “Photos” app, although they do in the “MyCloud” mobile and desktop app. It looks as if WD has not managed to fix this problem in the past years, or?
Hello, What version of WD Photos are you running? What mobile device do you have? What NAS do you have? What firmware is running on the NAS?
It’s the latest WD Photos on iOS, latest iOS on iPad Air and iPhone6, My
Book Live Duo with latest firmware. Not an unusal setup, I guess.
I have exactly the same issue. Have you had any luck yet?
No, not at all. All tricks and tipps I received did not work. So I have the
database of last year available but no new folders are being shown in the
WD Photos app.
I am considering to switch to another brand. Thomas
Very frustrating. I called them today and had no joy. They have emailed me a check list to follow so i will have to give that a try when i’m at home as i called them from work. I cant even log into the dashboard, which i tried at the weekend.
Happy to forward you the email i received from them?
Sure, I would appreciate that!

Once you have access to the dashboard of the device, please navigate to Settings – General and look, whether the “Remote Access” option is on. After that, go on to Network and see, whether the IP is set to DHCP or Static.
1- Use search option for Command Prompt
2- Run as Administrator
3- Type in “ipconfig/all”
4- You will need to note down or keep the page open
5- Go on the My Cloud Dashboard
6- Settings
7- Network
8- Under Network Services, set it from DHCP to Static
9- Enter the following into the field:
a) IP of the Device
b) Netmask
c) Default Gateway
d) DNS Server
10- Click on “OK”
11- This should save the settings
12- Navigate over to Settings
13- General
14- Scroll to Cloud Access
15- Turn Remote Access “ON”
16- Click on Configure
17- Connectivity = Manual
18- External Port 1 = 80
19- External Port 2 = 443
20- Save
21- Now you should have Remote Access on and the Connection Status “Ready”
Under “Cloud Access”, you should also see the devices connected, when using the device with a phone or a tablet and please delete the phone/tablet and use the “Get Code” option, again, in order to generate a new code for yourself then also delete the device from the app, later add the device again, manually, using the activation code, which was generated on the dashboard of the device.
Thanks a lot, I will try later when at home! Will report then if it
worked…
Thomas
