I have already gone through the help section of WD’s website. Cable connections are good, power adapter is good, network is good. I can hear the hard drive spinning and the network link lights are on (green flickers and amber stays on), but no matter how long it sits, the green light on the front never comes on and I cant access MBL. Was working fine last week.
It’s still within warranty, but I have alot of stuff stored on here that I cant lose. Does WD transfer data from the old to new for a warranty replacement?
Thanks in advance.
OK, since I cant leave stuff alone, I kept messing with settings and trying different approaches to figuring this out.
I have a ton of music and its all stored on MBL. So I went to Media Player and sure enough, my music works fine. Hmmm, but I cant see the drive and the setup software cant see it either. Since Media Player seems to have access I used that to look up the file location of an album. Shows it going through Networks. I usually get to MBL through My Computer but this time went through Networks instead. Guess what popped up? Network Sharing is off. Turned it back on and within 30 seconds, MBL is back online like it was before. Shows up in My Computer, I can access all the files (so far) and the Quickview is operable again.
Could it have been that simple?
