No Audio

All has been working fine, then suddenly, when I attempt to play any file, no audio plays. Video functions normally.

I’ve checked the HDMI connections (both ends) and verified the files I am playing have audio by playing from the same source on a PC.

I’m using a thumb drive. Could that be playing a part? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I’m only mentioning this in case you haven’t checked … (you haven’t mentioned it)

Have you checked the Audio Settings on your WDTV ?

Setup > Audio/Video Output > Audio Output > Stereo       *if you have your wdtv connected to your TV via HDMI*

of course, the other Audio settings as well if you are using a AV Receiver.

Have you tried another HDMI Input on your TV (if available) ?  Have you tried a different HDMI cable ?

Note: *the thumb drive will not be the cause*

Does the Now Playing show the audio muted?

I have facing the same problem. Everything was working properly but sudenly the videos are without audio. A week befores this happened to videos I was watching on Netflix. What to do?

any resolution to this?  My network share videos play fine - any other audio won’t play all of a sudden.  No updates were done
