HDMI Video - no sound

1st generation WD TV will not play audio from video files using HDMI cable. Changing setting from digital to stereo will only allow to play some files. But if  pressing the option button you scroll through the audio file, audio will be lost.

Latest firmware was loaded yesterday with no results. I looked at Poster’s JMatias but I did not read a solution to this problem. If DTS files will not playback, then why is there different audio outputs in the options menu.

Has anyone a solution without being too complicated?

It’s been a while since you posted, have you tried contacting WD’s Technical Support about this? You can do so either by phone or email.
