I am new and am using my Cloud Home to get all my photos in one place- multiple iphones, external hard drives, and photos previously saved to Dropbox.
Questions:
If I automatically sync from my phone to MyCloud Home, and then I want to delete and clear the photos from my phone- they will stay on MyCloud Home, correct?
Is the best place to organize all the photos from MyCloud Home the home website? I can’t quite figure out the purpose of the desktop app.
Under the “files and folders” tab, I have files for iphone imports, dropbox import, and an external drive import.
Will these photos all be combined in one area chronologically under “photos” tab? Or do I have to sift through each section and create separate albums? I’m a bit overwhelmed.
If I delete photos that I no longer want from My Cloud Home (for example junk photos or duplicates), will they upload again the next time that the device syncs, if it is still in the original source ? In other words, will it keep replacing and uploading that photo?
Can you upload pictures from my cloud home to photo websites such as Shutterfly to make albums?
I’m sure I’ll have more questions- for now just trying to get everything in one place and organized.
Thanks much!
Stacy
If you delete from your phone, yes they stay on your MyCloud. If you delete from MyCloud but still on phone, yes it will download again. I experimented with this when my wife took a trip to a seminar as she was going to be using her phone for lots of pics so she needed to get off phone to have room for more.
if you sync from your phone to your My Cloud Home Device, you can safely delete the items on your phone and it will still be on your My Cloud Home Device.
I use the Desktop app as it allows me to accesses and organize my files from the Z drive that My Cloud Home App has created for you.
This would allow you to do drag and drop and create folders and delete items like you can on your computer.
The folders it create and from the different sync devices. I would just leave them there and view the files from that folder.
I use it if I have photos synced to MyCloud Home Device and go into my sync folder and copy the photo that I want over to my computer.
But this does not stop you from create folders and uploading files on the My Cloud Home Device.
4.If you have them synced from your device it will reupload them again, unless you have already deleted it from your synced device, then you can delete it from your My Cloud Home Device.
If you have uploaded these files manually to the My Cloud Home device than you can delete it from your My Cloud Home device without any issue.
If its setup on your computer as a Z drive then yes.
If the website uses an API from WD to able to connect to your My Cloud Home from websites like Shutterfly then yes, if not then no.
