MyCloud storage icon on Windows Explorer (Windows 10)

Hi, dudes.

I have a 4tb My Cloud. I also have a 8tb MyCloud EX2. On Windows Explorer (Windows 10), there is a icon to the MyCloud 4tb that look like the divice, but the icon to the MyCloud EX2 is a Windows generic Icon (no-icon, actually). I have 3 computers, so it is the same problem on Windows “7”, “8.1” and “10”. My device is working perfectly well, the only problem is this ugly icon that makes think about some system error or such. Please, see the print screen: green arrow is MyCloud 4tb, red arrow is MyCloud EX2 8tb :frowning:

shows to MyCloud 4tb???

I had a similar problem when I had a MyCloud 3tb and a MyBook Live 3tb. The problem was with the My Cloud 3tb. So I fowllowed this tutorial http://community.wd.com/t/mycloud-storage-icon-on-windows-explorer/140019 and my problem was solved. But this solution do not work to the My Cloud EX2 8tb.

Thank you very much!

Hello,

You can try to add the device manually by going to Control Panel/hardware and software/ devices and printers. Then click on “Add a device”, if your My Cloud EX2 is listed, follow the setup wizard steps and the correct icon should populate on Windows explorer/network.
