When I plug in to a USB 3 port, the drive starts up (LED is on), but no drives appear in explorer, nor in device manager. In USB2 port, everything works fine. Same issue on another laptop, other brand. Another brand usb3 drive works in usb3 port, so cause seems to be WD driver, right? Updating drivers form website didn’t solve this. Any help?
Have you tried replacing the USB 3.0 cable? The cable itself could be part of the issue. If this has been done then I’d recommend replacing the hard drive under warranty since the unit has already been tested with a different computer and updated drivers.
