I have a portable WD My Passport hard drive model listed above. I understand it is compatible with Vista or Windows XP. I backed up data on my Vista PC and would like to transfer onto my a Windows 10 operating system PC. Can I transfer my backed up data onto my windows 10 pc? Do I need to update my passport with new driver or software to make this work?

The backup software works independently from the hard drive and runs from the host computer. I’d recommend ensuring the backup utility bundled with your WD Passport (Either WD SmartWare or WD Backup) is updated to the latest version in the Windows Vista computer, then running the backup, then installing the program in the Windows 10 computer, updating, and then restoring.
