 i had my wd passport installed on windows 8. i have installed windows 10 and get get access to passport to do back up. any idea when this will work with windows 10

Hello, 

At this moment WD Smartware is not supported on Windows 10. This does not mean it is not going to work. It just means we have not tried it yet and cannot guarantee that it will work.

Hi, I’m new here and inexperienced so please bear with me. 

New HP laptop, Windows 10.  My Passport is less than a year old.  USB plug in 1T backup.  I came here and downloaded the software. I did see the WD Smartware on the desktop and it seemed to be installing the software.  It just ran and ran and didn’t stop. I had to go to task manager and shut down the laptop. 

Now I see the Passport under drives.  Icon shows in the lower right Smartware.   When I hover over it, the pointer shows it is working but the software won’t open.  I had to go to task manager and shut down.  I right click on the icon and try to safely eject and nothing happens.

Please help me.  My music is on the Passport.  I paid to have the tech transfer files from tower to new laptop but my itunes library was not transferred.  In fact, neither was my Quicken.  When I called to ask why they said, no software was transferred!  Upset b/c they didn’t tell me that when I bought the new laptop!    Very frustrated now.  Can I use my Passport backup with my new laptop?  How do I open it and review my backup schedule?
