Having incurred drastic data loss, i.e. drive looks RAW, & tried some utilities, I am now trying to source a PCB. When choosing a PCB do the identifying codes on the chips have to match on every chip between old & new PCB please?
Do the codes on the chips matter? I have seen one supplier saying they are unimportant except the PCB marking

Hi,
I have never tried this since this procedure is not supported by Western Digital. Let’s see if a User who has experience will be able to assist.
If WD do not support this process of removing six screws are WD saying it is impossible to successfully replace a PCB?!
