Replacing PCB on WD Passport Ultra 3 TB

I have a nonfunctional pcb & would like to know if it is possible to purchase another same device, swap the pcb, and have a functional HD again. I read in a few places that this can work if I find someone who can also swap the rom chip.

Any help is much appreciated.

I dont recommend attempting any repair services on a hard drive, This may damage the drive even more and make the data irrecoverable. If you need to recover the data from the drive I recommend you contact a data recovery company.
