My passport Ultra - Time Machine couldn’t complete the backup to “My Passport”

I’m running OS X Sierra with a WD MY Book Duo and a WD My Passport Ultra. The back up works fine to the NAS box but fails every time on the Passport with the following error: My passport Ultra - Time Machine couldn’t complete the backup to “My Passport”.

I’ve formatted the drive again, sometimes its picked up after running the unlock app, sometimes not but why does it keep failing?

Hello,

Does the passport have a password setup on it with WD security? If so try disabling the security as a test and see if this way it works right away.

Good shout though it used to work fine after I unlocked it.

Talking about passport, I switched from here to buying a passport online. . This time, it is more about a physical passport . For the past years I never realised that there was a significant difference when talking about passports
